A posted worker is a worker who has been sent by an employer to work in another country. Such work is temporary. After completion of the work, the worker returns to his/her home country.
The employer must also inform the State Labour Inspectorate before posting the worker. The employer who posts the worker is liable to a penalty for failure to inform.
The employer is the one specified in the employment contract.
An employer who sends a worker to another country must comply with the laws and regulations of the country to which the worker is posted This applies to both working conditions and employment rights.
